This was inspired by the memory of my cousins wedding down in the beautiful Golden Bay. We filled the sky with these amazing wish lanterns. I'm huge fan of lanterns (you may have noticed if you follow my work) but floating lanterns!!...magic!!

If you follow my instagram you will know that i sometimes like to put my little characters into real life situations. Recently I thought I'd have some fun and place 3 little pigs around my home city (Whangarei, New Zealand) with little notes written on their backs which read - please take me on an adventure and pass me on. I also asked if they would take photo's of these piggy adventures and post them on instagram (using the hashtag #sojushots). So far I've heard back from 2 of the pigs and they are having wicked adventures thanks to the awesome people out there who are playing along.
Over the last couple of days I've had other instagram followers from around the world asking if they can have a little piggy to take on adventures too. So I'm off to print some off and send them around the globe....cant wait to see what they get up to! I'll keep you posted.
If anyway out there actually reads my posts and would like their own little piggy to take on adventures...Just let me know in the comments (or any of my other social media sites) I'm more than happy to send you one. The only condition is that you update me with piggy adventure photo's :D
hey friends! this one was obviously inspired by the billy goats gruff....one of may all time favourite stories. I'm a big fan of the Troll.....i used to have the little ladybird book version and the troll creeped me out in the best kind of way. This illustration is included in my little society6 shop along with heaps of my other designs. I just bought myself this troll on a t-shirt as he's one of my favourites. Hope your Weekends been a great one!

I made some little bookmarks to celebrate my jump back into my little blog here. They're very simple but I hope they remind people to keep fairy tales alive. If you would like one just let me know and Ill be more than happy to send one to you.

Voting day today for those of us from New Zealand. Not sure what relevance that has to Goldilocks and the 3 bears......? perhaps someone out there can make a connection.
One person wrote to me not about his imaginary friend but about his imaginary enemies. They used to chase him around the house and out into the garden. Thankfully they were never able to catch him.... and he became a very speedy runner.

What if your imaginary friend had their own imaginary friend!.....would you be able to see his/hers/it's? You could have a whole gang of imaginary friends and all go giant squid fishing together. That's what I'd do :)
Here's a few more of my favorite Imaginary Friends submitted to me over my instagram, facebook and twitter.
One little girl had a giant white tiger that made her feel protected....i imagined him in comfy, cosy socks.
The next little boy had an imaginary robot friend called beebot! Mum would pack extra marmite sandwiches in this boy's lunchbox especially for beebot.
Then we had a little girl who's friend was a cat-boy... he was best at spotting cloud animals.
Finally one young boy had a little cat wearing a red cape that would appear in his room....although he never seemed to fly.
hope you enjoy these imaginary friends as much as i did......I wonder where they are now?

I think I'll ease back into my little blog by starting with my Imaginary Friends series...it was heaps of fun!
Using social media (you can find all my links to the right of this blog) I asked people to tell me any true stories of Imaginary friends they had growing up. It really was fascinating! The things young minds think up had me green with envy! But I was very appreciative that these kind people let me draw my impression of their imaginary friends. I'll post a few of them during the following week with their little stories...hope you enjoy seeing them as much as i did creating them.
The image above is one I made up....but it was a very common theme from a lot of the stories I heard. So many poor innocent imaginary friends took the blame for all the naughty things these youngsters got up too. Such a cute situation I just had to illustrate it.
Hi friends.....well it's been quite a while since I last updated my blog but....HEEEERE'S SOOOOJU!!!!
ahem.....sorry about that. I have done quite a bit of work since I last was here so I'm not really sure where to start....?? I guess I'll just add my little drawings here and there and hope that they tickle your fancy. It's been so long since I posted here that I'm not even sure anyone is still out there following me. If you are out there....thank you! and I promise to get this little blog happening again.
